OEA Study Report: “A Plan for Growing Cambria County’s Key Industry Clusters”
Mr. Michael Jensen & Mr. Garry Powers
The Cambria County Defense Industry Diversification Analysis Project is a community-wide effort to develop an appropriate response to the decline in the defense industry. CTC and JARI are currently supporting this Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) program for Cambria County to develop a plan that defines effective strategies for the local industry’s transition away from defense spending.
Business leaders, educators, and economic developers have come together to identify strategies to strengthen each industry – including initiatives related to addressing workforce/training gaps, strengthening regional industry networks, leveraging government programs, and spurring innovation and entrepreneurship.
We invite you to join us to discuss these strategies and move to implementation of our recommendations. Implementation will require community-wide effort, and you and your organizations are an integral part of the implementation process. Please join us as we work to diversify our region’s economy.
